When I think of this night, I’m reminded of the poem by Omar Khayyam “Drink wine. This is life eternal. This is all that youth will give you. It is the season for wine, roses and drunken friends. Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”
These real and beautiful moments with friends are what life is all about!
I built my greenhouse in the summer (it’s a cottage model by BC Greenhouses that I customized and my carpenter Jorme added the beautiful foundation), and since then I’ve been dreaming of hosting an intimate gathering in there. Summer came and went in a flash, and I knew I didn’t want the autumn to slip by before I made my dream a reality. So I decided what better occasion than my birthday to bring my favourite ladies together! Also fall is an ideal time for a greenhouse party because its the perfect temperature inside the greenhouse in the evenings.
I originally planned to build a table with all our leftover scrap wood but alas time slipped away and with homeschooling I just didn’t make it happen, so to the rescue came All in One Party Shop, happy to have this great company in town with a beautiful farmhouse table for rent.
The beautiful orange water glasses I snagged from Superstore back in August with the hopes of using them for a fall tablescape, and originally had 6 but when I knew I wanted these 7 girls at the event I hurried back a few weeks later to see if they still had them.. and can you believe it they had only one left all alone on the shelf #meanttobe
Next time I hope to try a full on dinner this time we just did charcuterie and snacks (and lots of wine of course – I served one of my favs the Sandhill Syrah (not sponsored just love that wine)), but that will require me to have less decor on the table to make room for more food 😉
It was a beautiful night filled with laughs, talk, and twinkle lights,
and now I believe every girl needs a greenhouse 😉
