I have been planning this room, pretty much since our house sold! I knew I wanted my girls to share a room again and couldn’t wait to design a room that they will love for many years. Autumn is a girly girl for sure. When asked what color room she wants she yelled ‘pink!’ so pink it was. I was grateful to partner with Urban Walls and Spinkie Baby on a few of the pieces in here to really bring it to life!
I decided to have the room painted by a pro since the idea of painting myself while taking care of 3 toddlers seemed rather insane. The color I chose for the room was from Cloverdale and the code is OW 142. If you’re local to the valley. Comox Valley Powerwash and Paint was super awesome to work with I highly recommend.
I chose the 1.5 inch blush watercolor hearts from Urban Walls and they were not only so so cute, but incredibly easy to work with. I love the look of wallpaper but ain’t nobody got time for that. And also to undo wallpaper is such a process. These took literally 30 minutes and what I liked most is that I could lightly apply them and then reapply when I like the placement and press down to put them on, so there wasn’t a whole lot I had to do in ‘prep’ which is how I like to roll. SO easy and wow what a pop of fun they make!
The canopies are from Spinkie Baby and I chose the light pink for Georgia’s crib and the champagne for Autumn’s bed (which is from Ikea because I know you want to know!) and I opted for the large sparkle pom to hang over the little reading nooks and the regular poms to hang over the dollhouse. Oh and the dollhouse is a one of a kind made by a total creative awesome lady in Stony Plain Alberta her company is Clever Arrow if you want to check her out as well.
Styling spaces to share can be a bit of a challenge because I didn’t want to have identical feels for both their beds but I wanted them to blend really well together. I think I achieved that by going with different color canopies and having Georgia’s floral crib rail (made by me fabric is from Tonic Living) and then Autumn has her own more mature feel with the champagne and then a collection of throw pillows.
The reading nook is my fav! I wanted a space for my girls to spend time together and cuddle with books and toys. I love the soft cozy pillows and sheepskin and then a nice wicker basket to keep stuffies and books off the floor.
The shelves which I plan to rejig a bit when I find some big gold frames I like, are just picture ledges (mousoulla or something like that) from Ikea and work awesome, I didn’t want anything to jut out too much from the wall but I did want a fun way to display some photos and decor nicknacks. Definitely anchor them though!
So there it is, my dream little girls room brought to life. If I missed anything you want to know let me know in the comments, thanks for checking it out and have a lovely day!
