The internet and social media is a funny thing, it can drive people apart but also (and more often for me) can really bring people together. I have found such an amazing community of like-minded creative mamas through social media. Anastasia is one of the very special relationships I owe to social media. We were brought together by Instagram when I discovered her unbelievably gorgeous children’s clothing company 2 Peas in a Pod. I instantly fell in love with her clothing and with her. I’ve been a huge fan ever since and my babies can be seen rocking her fashions most days. She lives in Calgary and when I mentioned we were going to be going through Calgary on our summer trip to Montana, we planned to finally formally meet and planned a family shoot for her and her family that she had been wanting to do since her youngest, Alina, was born.
I don’t normally shoot in Calgary so I did some location scouting with my three babes while my husband did some work in a coffee shop in the morning. I found this beautiful spot in Fish Creek Provincial Park (and how did I now know about this when I lived in Calgary for 2 years!?) It was gorgeous, open, grassy, and serene. Just perfection. Her family was even sweeter and more beautiful than I imagined.
